Leota C. Kerns

Leota joined her heavenly family Saturday, October 7, 2023.

Leota was born to Frank and Myrtle Cox January 21, 1928, and shared that birth date with her twin sister, Leona. The twins were welcomed by brother, Keith and sister, Eileen. She married J.W. Kerns in 1946 and started their family with the birth of daughter, Deanna, followed by a son, Jerry and daughter, Jana.

Leota began her professional career at White River Electric CO-OP in an administrative capacity. She retired after 28 years of service and continued to utilize her administrative skills as a Pink Lady Volunteer for Branson’s hospital and Secretary to the City Council of Blue eye until her early 80’s. Through the years, Leota gardened and loved crocheting. She made many Afghans for her family. She was a member of the First Baptist Church – Blue Eye and enjoyed singing in the choir.

She is survived by her children, Deanna Brixey (Darrell) Lebanon, MO; Jerry Kerns (Sandy) Blue Eye; Jana Blevins (Terry) Tyler, TX. Grandchildren Joy Mello, Kim Parton, Louden and Greyden Blevins, Terry Easley; several great grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

Leota is preceded in death by her parents and three siblings; J.W. and grandson, Randy Kerns.

Celebration of life service to be determined.
